Supporting New Beginnings with Backpack Beginnings
Parker White is the founder and volunteer Executive Director of BackPack Beginnings. She started the Greensboro, North Carolina-based nonprofit in 2010 out of her dining room with the initial goal of feeding 50 children at one local school.
At Thoughtful Closings, the idea of “home” has always meant more than a physical space.
Home represents stability. Comfort. Opportunity. A place where people feel safe, supported, and able to thrive. That belief is one of the reasons partnering with organizations like BackPack Beginnings feels so meaningful to us.
BackPack Beginnings does incredible work serving children and families throughout our community by helping meet basic needs with dignity and compassion. From clothing and school supplies to food assistance and family support resources, their impact reaches far beyond the items they provide, they are helping create confidence, hope, and opportunity for families navigating difficult circumstances.
As we celebrate new beginnings with our clients every day, we’re reminded that not everyone has equal access to the stability and support that a home can provide. Supporting organizations that actively care for and invest in local families is an intentional part of Thoughtful Closings' mission. We believe businesses have the opportunity, and responsibility, to contribute meaningfully to the communities they serve.
For us, community impact is not an afterthought woven into our business model. It’s part of the foundation. We’re proud to support BackPack Beginnings and grateful for the work they continue to do to strengthen families throughout our community.
